How And Why To Follow Up With A Phone Call

If you have been in network marketing for any amount of time you have heard the phrase "my telephone weighs 1000 lbs."  I am here to explain how to help your phone "lose weight."  But first we need to focus on why it is so important to follow up with every lead or network marketing contact by telephone.  In network marketing today we are exposed to so many other network marketers.  Some are looking for a new business opportunity, needing leads, needing customers, or simply wanting to connect with fellow network marketers to share ideas and tips for growing their business.  When you received notification, usually by email, that you have a new lead the only information you get is their name, email, phone # (hopefully), and other various facts as to where they went on your website and how they found it.  How are you really going to find out what that person was interested in when they opted in on your website?  Chat on Facebook?  Sure that's OK, but you can't hear their voice there.  When you actually listen to what a person is saying you can tell whether they are sincere, distracted, bored, excited, happy, or irritated.  Another way you can find out what the person was interested in is send them an email.  It is a good idea to connect by email after receiving a lead, but not to find out their interest.  In the email state something to the fact of "Thank you for visiting my website I look forward to speaking with you soon."  The body of the email should contain enticing information about the product or opportunity you have to offer.

The reason you want to call someone is not to "pitch" your opportunity or product.  When you call a lead for your business think of it as a job application.  You are calling to interview them, but they don't know that.  You want to find out the following:

-network marketing experience
-what they like about what they do
-what they don't like about what they do
-why they chose network marketing
-how much money they want to make

So now you're wondering how do I do this without sounding desperate.  If you call and just start "pitching" what you have to offer, that sounds desperate.  When I call someone I want to be the one asking the questions that keeps me in control of the conversation.  I usually start out with something like this:

"Hi is ____ in please?  Hi ____ this is Margaret Wilson calling. You recently visited my website regarding making money from home.  Is this something you're still interested in."

Then I wrote my own questions regarding the information I want to find out about the person.  Not only do I call my leads, I also make phone contact with many of my friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In.  Why?  Because they might be looking for a new opportunity and just haven't found my website yet.  The more you pick up your phone the more weight it will loose!

Attraction Marketing- A skill you must have for success - Part 3

In the first post of this series I breifly explained the broad field of Attraction Marketing. In the second post I gave an overview of how to give out your content.  So now we are at the point of people are starting to request you as friend on Facebook, following  you on Twitter, and joining you on Linked In.  You may be asking "Now what"?  It is the time to follow up with EVERYONE!  I'm going to tell you today my simple process of following up. Here we go...

1. Facebook- I immediately repond to friend requests.  At the time I accept I also send them a private messege thanking them for the connection and I give them a FREE presentation to view on becoming famous on Facebook, a link to my Facebook Fan Page, and in my signature is my blog link.

2. Twitter- When I receive a notification that someone is now following me on Twitter I go look them up and send them a direct messege say hello and I give a link to my Facebook Fan page.  This is simply to let them know "Hey thanks for the follow."  I also have a program set up in SocialOomph where this is automated!!

3. LinkedIn- When people connect with me here I look them up and send them a messege saying similar to the same thing as Facebook.  The difference being I may ask them what there 2 biggest struggles are in Network Marketing or MLM, or I give a link offering them to join the lead generation system that I use (I'll give this link here in a minute).

That's it... pretty simple huh?  Well, it doesn't stop there.  This is where the work comes in and you may need to come out of your comfort zone to complete the last step of follow up.  For all three of these you can usually find the phone number of the person that connected with you.  It's now time to pick up the phone. Let them know you are a real person! I usually say something like "Hey we're friends on Facebook and I just thought I'd give you a call to say hello"!  If you can't find a phone sometimes they have alink to their website which will either give a phone# or email.  If I email them I put in the subject line "I'm connected with you from ______."  This lets them know we do know eachother through the internet.  Then in the email I ask for their contact information so we can connect via telephone and get to know eachother better.

All of this falls under building the relationship and people aren't going to join  you in anything or ask for your help if they don't know who you are!  I previously mentioned a lead generation system that I use.  The program I have found is so powerful. It not only has the resources to help  you get leads and explode your business, but many of these techniques I have learned from this system through their numberous webinars and exclusive trainings.  If you would like more information on facebook training, twitter training, and the system I use to grow my business click on the Big Box on the right of my blog that has the letter MLSP (MyLeadSystemPro) or email me at margaret8302@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to introduce you to the best training and lead generation system out there. Not only does it help you grow your Primary Oppurtunity but it also provides you with numberous income streams.

I hope you have enjoyed this series and I look forward to your comments or emails.
